Parkland Woman’s Club Gives Back Through Fashion Show

Fashion was the main course mixed with a side of charity at a recent Parkland Woman’s Club event.

The Parkland Woman’s Club hosted their annual fashion show and luncheon fundraiser held at the Parkland Golf & County Club. More than 120 guests enjoyed a full course meal and watching models strut their stuff on stage all for a good cause.

The fashion show showcased the latest styles and trends from the White House, Black Market, Apricot Lane, and Chico’s. In addition, Pink Pony Tail Salon in Coral Springs styled all the models hair dos. There were also many raffle prizes.

“This is our second annual event, and the Parkland Woman’s Club wanted the ladies to fundraise and have some fun at the same time,” said Pat Mirabello, Chairperson for the fundraiser.

The day of fashion and fun was also a time to give back to several worthy causes, including, scholarships for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and the Girl Scouts of America.

“The Woman’s Club has been in existence for over 20 years. When founded, we decided to give back 50 percent of our proceeds to charities directly affecting the community and 50 percent to other recognized charities such as SOS Childrens' Village and St. Jude's Childrens Hospital,” said Mirabello. “Our goal is to fundraise, socialize and network.”

Mirabello thanked everyone who made the fundraiser possible and hopes the Club will host many more in the future.

“Thank you to everyone that supported this event. It was great to see so many people have a great time, especially in these difficult economic times,” said Mirabello.
